Start your day with a cup of great coffee and a proper English breakfast, or a freshly baked scone with home made jam. Enjoy a Pimm’s & lemonade and some sausage rolls on the lovely terrace, or have dinner with a lamb or veggie pie. Kitchen open from 8.30am until 9pm.
Literally on the corner of our street, on the square with the fountain is bar restaurant 1900. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Or have a beer and some famous dutch ‘bitterballen’ (a meat-based snack).
Brrewery and tasting room located in a beautiful building from 1887. The bar has 6-9 beers on tap at any time. While you are having a beer, you can look into the brewery The terrace has sun almost all day and is located on a quiet road. This makes it an excellent place to enjoy their beers at one of the picnic tables.
Also in walking distance this small restaurant with a set menu of 5 courses, like the french ‘menu routier’. Very charming and in summer with a lovely terrace.
De Vergulden Eenhoorn is a city farmhouse dated from 1702. It is in walking distance, has great food which is served in the former stable. Lunch, Diner, just drinks… it also has a great garden and terrace
Restaurant Merkelbach is located in the coach house to the right of ‘Huize Frankendael’.The spacious patio overlooks an oasis of green; the formal garden and Park Frankendael. Honestly sourced ingredients and an interest in unusual products. The 4-course menu is served from Thursday till Saturday and a reservation is mandatory.
The best Indonesian food of Amsterdam (take away) is just a three minutes walk from us. Order and bring it ‘home’ to theguestroom. You need to be a bit patient as there is a waiting line on most days but it is well worth it.
